Why We’re Different
There is currently no clear Canadian-first system that allows job seekers to independently verify job opportunities before engagement.
JobChecked™ was built to fill that gap.
JobChecked is a verification system, not a scanner, not a browser overlay, and not a platform moderation service. It is designed to support real-world decisions at the point before risk actually occurs: engagement.
What exists today
A small number of adjacent solutions App based solutions in the UK and Europe have begun to address parts of the problem locally, but they do not provide the kind of independent verification job seekers need when assessing a live opportunity.
Some are built for company platforms, job boards, or moderation systems rather than for individual users making decisions in real time. Others are early-stage checkers or overlays that focus on surface-level signals.
These approaches can flag obvious, locally based issues but they do not assess whether an opportunity actually holds together as a legitimate hiring process.
Where JobChecked is different
Most existing approaches ask: Does this look suspicious?
JobChecked asks: Does this opportunity actually make sense as a legitimate hiring process?
That is a materially different standard.
What that means in practice
- We assess structure, not just signals - employer, recruiter, communication method, process, and payment flow are considered together.
- We evaluate the full hiring journey - not a single message or listing in isolation, but how each step aligns with legitimate hiring behaviour.
- We identify methodology, not just red flags - scams follow patterns, and those patterns matter.
- We support decisions, not just detection - the outcome is not simply a warning, but a clearer basis for whether to proceed at all.
Built on structured data
JobChecked is grounded in a layered verification system:
- a 60-point verification framework
- a growing database of scam indicators and behavioural signals
- documented recruitment patterns and methodologies
- case-informed analysis of real-world scam activity
These elements work together to assess not just what is being said, but how the entire opportunity behaves, to ensure real opportunities not missed in the process.
Canada-first by design
Existing offerings are not built as Canadian-first publicly accessible, verification systems for job seekers.
JobChecked is designed specifically with the Canadian job market in mind - including local hiring norms, payment behaviour, regulatory context, and scam patterns affecting Canadian job seekers.
More than a scan
JobChecked™ provides an independent verification layer at the point of engagement.
Signal 19 extends that work through advocacy and awareness, focused on the conditions that make exploitation possible in the first place.
The goal
To create a clear, independent checkpoint before engagement - giving job seekers the ability to pause, assess, and make informed decisions in an environment where trust is no longer guaranteed.
This is not about adding another layer of noise.
It is about creating a layer that does not currently exist.
